I have been told that I am not updating enough. Of course it has been well over a month since my last update. Time is going so fast and I have been traveling a bunch these days. This month I believe I will be on the road over 23 days.

I have spent most of the time in Houston, a bit of time in Dallas / Fort Worth, and will also do a week or so in Libya/ London/ Spain for some international work I am doing. Life moves quickly when you are traveling, but it is also gets pretty old.

Big things happening as always~!

The past few months have been very busy. I have been developing business in Texas while doing a lot of work in California. It has been fun and time is flying by!

On the home front the family is doing well. I do have some very exciting news! The Rinard Family is growing! We are expecting another baby! It is still very early as my wife is 9 weeks pregnant and will be due at the end of April. We are very excited!

I have added the Twitter to JakeRinard.com as well as a link to Facebook. I update these more often and this way you can stay up to date.

Feels like Home

Ontario is beginning to feel like home. I love Southern California and the Inland Empire. It feels like coming back home after a long trip. The people are great, the selection of restaurants, shopping, and everything else is as good as it gets!

I love being back home!

Yes, I know. I definitely know that my posting has been miserable. Life as you know is crazy and can keep you going. Even as hard as I fight it pulls me in all directions.

Life is fun that way. I am in Houston today/tomorrow then off to LA on Monday. It is nice to be home. A Realtor just called and we have to get out of the house in a little over an hour for a showing.

Oh an offer would be good. We have the house priced right and it is probably the best for the money. we have upgraded it and made it beautiful. Realtors comments that Marsha must be a professional interior decorator. She is amazing for sure!

So it should sell, I just hope that is is soon.

Letter to President Bush His Last Day in Office

Dear President Bush,
Today is your last day in office. I wanted to say thank you. There has been no president that has served his country in a time like the one you have served. While I understand no one can be perfect all the time you always tried to do what was best for the USA even if it wasn’t popular.

I can appreciate that you stuck to your guns. You did what you felt was the right thing to do. That is admirable and for that you deserve our full respect.

I wish you could have accomplished what you intended to accomplish but everything changed on September 11th and your leadership was amazing. You did an excellent job those days after the terrorist attacks on our soil. Your reassuring leadership during rough times was what we needed.

I want to say thank you once again. I respect you and your family. Thank you for 8 years of your life.

Churches: Get and Keep Visitors

As one who studies church growth I am often amazed at how much we will talk about wanting our churches to grow yet don’t think outside of the box to get and keep visitors.

Church growth isn’t always easy, but we don’t have to make it impossible either. Let me give a simple idea often over looked when trying to reach your church visitors.

Have you ever thought about giving something valuable to each guest that comes to your church? I am not saying a loaf of bread or something like that. I am saying something that will make them think of your church during the week?

Try this idea that I am going to tell you and you will see an improvement on getting and keeping first time visitors. You want the idea? OK, enough chit chat.

Give your guest something valuable like a gift card to your local restaurant or Starbucks. Not $10 or less. In fact $15 is too cheap. You have to give a minimum of $20 but $30 is even better. This gift card MUST be at a place in your neighborhood. Send this out on Monday or Tuesday the SAME week that they visited your church. Do not delay.

Make it worth it and valuable. Better yet see if you can get Starbucks to personalize the cards for your church. It will be well worth it.

Simple as that. You will see an improvement in getting and keeping guests. Now you need to get them plugged in!

Politicians: 1 Way to Win : Vision

Politicians these days have it all wrong. We don’t need finger pointing. We need results. We will leave the pointing to the historians. I need to know how we are going to make this world a better place.

Give me your plan and let me decide. I want Senator Obama and Senator McCain to lay out their plans. Point by point. It doesn’t need to be hundreds of pages. Give me your ideas or what I would call your philosophy of government.

What will guide your decisions, how you will act, and let me decide. I do think your past will dictate how you will respond in the future so we do need to see your voting record. If you don’t have a voting record, then show me what you have done in business, at church, with your family, and elsewhere.

Both politicians running for president should take 15 minutes or so and lay out their vision for America. I don’t want to hear 1 word about the other guy. Just layout your easy to follow plan. Share your heart, don’t politicize it but let us see who you are. If you are running for president you must think you have good ideas, so tell us them. If they are good you will win.

Simple as that. Lay out your vision, and people will get on board.

Hurricanes and Pools

I have the pool cleaned up. As you can see it looked like a port-a-potty that had been used by thousands of people a day for a week at the State Fair.

I had to be in it with the chainsaw. It took a week and a half and a lot of money in chemicals but now our pool looks good. There is some damage to the finish of the pool and we are going to get a quote to fix it. My guess is around 2500 – 3000 possibly a bit more since everything like this is a bit more after a hurricane.

Our power is back on at our home and office. Life is getting back to normal so that is a good.

Here is a picture of the pool after Hurricane Ike with the tree in it..

Now here is a picture with the tree out. See it looks looks like the sewer. To think I was in it and so were the kids.
