Best Burger in Newport Beach

Today as I was waiting for a meeting I grabbed a magazine showing the best burgers in Orange County. Currently living in the Inland Empire or the 909 as many call it, I understand that many things are better in Orange County.
Always on the lookout for the best burger, I was drawn to the magazine immediately. The burgers looked amazing, so I thumbed through the 5 or so burger places looking for the closest one to my meeting place.
Much to my good fortune I was pleased to find one not far from my location. A restaurant called “A Restaurant” had made the list for one of the best burgers in Orange County. Fantastic, I just needed to wrap up the stressful and heart jerking meeting so I could make a dash with my bride the most intriguingly named “A Restaurant”.
Upon entering “A Restaurant” I liked the atmosphere. I was after the lunch crowd but before the happy hour and I am sure lush Bentley driving dinner crowd. There were a few people in the dimly lit most bar type feel restaurant.
The workers were pleasant and we were seated in a comfortable booth. The wait staff was excellent, coming from the 909 is a pleasant change. I ordered the burger exactly as it is served.
It is a strong blue cheese burger with caramelized onions and Thousand Island dressing. The meat is high quality and mouthwatering. The blue cheese was strong even for a blue cheese fan such as me.
I have saved the best part of the burger for last… the bun. It is an amazing bun. The bun looks like it will be heavy, but it is light and has a flaky crust. It is just amazing. The bun is the best part of the burger.
While this isn’t my top burger in the USA, it is the best one I have had in California. The atmosphere was nice, staff excellent, and the food somewhat unusual and great.
I highly recommend stopping by the famous “A Restaurant”, often visited in the past by John Wayne, when I believe it was called a different name.

Feels like Home

Ontario is beginning to feel like home. I love Southern California and the Inland Empire. It feels like coming back home after a long trip. The people are great, the selection of restaurants, shopping, and everything else is as good as it gets!

I love being back home!
