Little Marlo has continued to amaze her mommy and daddy. Tonight she hit 1800 grams, which is 3 lbs 15.5 oz! 1800 was the celebration number, where Marlo will begin to moderate her own temperature. Since she can do this, she will be slowly weaned from the Giraffe Incubator, and into a more open bed!
She is still having some apnea where she slows down her breathing, or forgets to breathe. This happens when she is deep in sleep or when she is trying her hardest to go to the bathroom! It can be tough for a little girl to go to the bathroom, so breathing can take a backseat to taking a load off.
Well, she needs to breathe! If she doesn’t catch on, then she won’t go home. We want to take her home, so pray for breathing for Miss Marlo.
She has started breastfeeding and eating from a bottle. She is doing awesome at this! This was a huge event in her life, and now we are beginning to feel like we are on the homestretch! Breathe Marlo Breathe!
